The agreement

These terms cover your use of KapiX's software and websites — KapiX Learning, Lunas, Arus, and anything else we publish under the KapiX name. Using them means accepting these terms; if you do not accept them, please do not use them.

Where a product needs a rule of its own, it is called out by name below. Everything else applies to all of them.

If we change these terms materially, we will say so in the product rather than relying on the date at the top of this page.

What we make

KapiX is one idea in three parts. Each is a separate product:

• KapiX Learning — plain explanations of money ideas. Educational material, not advice about your circumstances.
• Lunas — a personal finance tracker. You tell it your income, bills and savings intentions, and it works out what you can safely spend.
• Arus — bookkeeping for micro, small and medium enterprises. It records what happened as double-entry journal entries and derives the statements from them.

What it costs

Everything is currently offered free of charge. There is no subscription, no paid tier and no payment of any kind at present.

If that changes, it will not change retroactively for data you have already entered, and we will tell you before it applies to you.

It is not advice

This is the most important clause here, so it is not buried.

Nothing we make is a financial adviser, a bank, a lender, a broker, an accountant or a regulated financial service, and nothing any of it displays is a personal recommendation. A figure is the result of a calculation over what you entered — not advice about what you should do.

Arus keeps books; it does not file them. Its output is not an audit, a tax return, or a substitute for a qualified accountant, and you remain responsible for meeting your own reporting obligations. KapiX Learning explains general ideas and does not know your circumstances.

Decisions about your money remain yours. For advice about your particular situation, speak to a professional qualified to give it.

Accuracy, and what it depends on

Our software knows only what you tell it. It does not read your bank accounts, so its figures are exactly as accurate as the information you enter and no more. A missed transaction or an out-of-date bill produces a confident number that happens to be wrong.

Exchange rates shown for foreign spending are indicative rates from a third-party source. They are not the rate your bank will apply, and the original amount is kept so it can be reconciled later against what you were actually charged.

We aim for our products to be available and correct, but we do not guarantee they will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Your account

An account is optional; the apps work without one on a single device. If you create one, keep access to the email address or Google account you signed in with — they are the only ways in.

There is no account recovery. We cannot restore access to an account whose email address and sign-in provider you have both lost, because we have no other way to establish that it is yours. Export your data if that risk matters to you.

Do not use the service unlawfully, attempt to access anyone else's data, or attempt to disrupt it for others. We may suspend or remove an account that does.

Your data stays yours

You keep all rights to the information you put into our software. We claim no ownership of it, and we do not sell it.

How it is handled is set out in the privacy policy at /privacy, which forms part of these terms.

You can export everything or delete your account at any time from within the app. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

Liability

Our software is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows.

We are not liable for financial loss arising from decisions you make while using it, for figures that were wrong because the information entered was incomplete, or for loss of data caused by losing access to your own account.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Ending it

You may stop using any of it at any time, and delete your account from within the app.

We may suspend or discontinue a product. If we discontinue one, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your data before it goes.

These terms are governed by the laws of Brunei Darussalam. If you use our software from somewhere else, you may also have rights under your own local law that this clause does not take away.
